Reynolds Buick: Reynolds Buick was started by Irv Reynolds Sr. after he received the Buick franchise from C S Howard (the largest Buick dealer on the West Coast of the USA). He placed a desk in a rented corner of a garage at Cirrus and San Bernardino Streets in Covina, CA and he was in business ! His progress was disrupted when he went off to fight in World War I, however he was back on track during the interwar years and by 1921 he had outgrown its original location. Reynolds partnered with two local businessmen to build a new dealership at the corner of Citrus and Badillo. Completed in 1922, the building is still operated by Reynolds as a GMC dealership.   • The story of Adelaide Fogg. (First printed in the Australian PreWar Buicks E Magazine by Jeff Randell and used with John Forster’s permission.) Adelaide Fogg is seen standing next to her 1929 Buick roadster and she just barely comes up to the top of the folded roof. Fogg was only 4’ 11’’ high and so you can see that while the Buick was a big car in any case, she certainly underlined that fact. (This is an old advertising trick to make the car look bigger - that Ford still uses today. Adelaide Fogg was born in 1897 and lived until 1981. She was famous for her dancing skills and is legendary in the Omaha area still today. Her story is a remarkable journey and involves all of the things that go to make up a good suspense story for television.   • Tail Light Switch in Victoria State, Australia. Paul White sent this photo of an original switch. Apparently this switch was a Victorian state requirement. Presumably something to do with checking that your tail lights were not burnt out each time you turned them on.

  • A Golden Buick from the East Indies: Mr and Mrs Sanders in his 29-49 series Buick seven pass. tourer. Mr Sanders worked as an administrator at the Redjang Lebong Community Mining gold mine. Interestingly, in the photo, Sanders’ driver is sitting in the passenger seat . . ? By 1936 the gold mine had shut due to failing gold reserves in the mine. (Ed. Note: 3 bar bumper but not NA style. Also, a bow-tie logo on side-mount wheel cover. Late hubcaps and maybe early rad. cap.)
  • Buick Logo on Hood Sides: (From the Factory Engineering Book - 1 of 2): The “Buick” logo is stamped on the hood sides. I also spotted a partial cover (metal ?) on the sidemount and a singular reference, in the copy, to a sidemount (Factory sidemount reference is usually plural).
